Why You Should Accept Payments Through Your Blog

When you set up a business blog, you do so for a reason – it is to help your business grow. But the truth is, almost every niche is very competitive. In today’s world, nearly every business is online, and most use blogs as a marketing strategy.

Stand Out

With that in mind, it is very important to find ways to make your blog stand out in the industry. Instead of offering your audience the same exact information they can find at every other business blog across the industry, you need to provide original insights and valuable information.

In addition to providing valuable information, you should strive to add a touch of humor, interesting images, and whatever else you can to address the needs of your target audience.

Add Payment Links

Another way to keep your content interesting is to include payment links to the products you promote. This helps to add a unique quality to your site – especially if the products are your own.

Remember, your blog can only make sales if it accepts credit cards online. This simple logic makes it important for you to consider accepting credit card payments at your blog.

Keep reading for a list of other reasons to accept payments through your blog that you may not have thought about.

Reason 1:

Accepting credit and debit card payments is a better option for customers. Most consumers prefer using cards over checks or cash. For merchants, this is an improvement over waiting for a check to arrive and then to clear. In addition, the acceptance of credit and debit cards increases the likelihood of making impulse sales.

Reason 2:

Credit card transactions are safe and secure – the information is encrypted. This protects customers and merchants alike.

Reason 3:

It’s easy. The process is automated. This means your business blog can accept payments around the clock. This is convenient for your customers, and all you have to do is add the payment link to your blog. The result is increased profits.

Reason 4:

Having payment links makes you appear more professional and credible.

Reason 5:

Credit and debit card transactions provide excellent recordkeeping and tracking systems. This is convenient for customers as well as for merchants.

Summary

Online competition is tough. If you want to grab the attention of your audience, you will need to work at providing great content that is interesting in unique ways. It should stand out.

This includes providing quality information, but you have to take things a step further. Give your blog a competitive edge with some good images and a little humor.

If you don’t add payment links to your blog, you are leaving money on the table. This simple step turns your blog into a 24/7 online shop that has the potential to tremendously boost your profits. Give it a try – see if it helps your business grow.

  • Hi Debbie,

I think that it’s very important to have a relationship with your audience before adding payment links.

One has to be careful, because it’s easy to make a site look salesy by adding payment links. I’d probably create a site called “products” and display the payment links only on this site. Then I could link to the site wherever I mention a specific product.

What do you think of this?
